Tangerine belongs to the group of fruits called hesperidia and its pulp is made up of a considerable number of segments filled with juice. It is the most similar citrus to orange, although smaller in size, with a more aromatic flavor, slightly lower acidity and a higher proportion of simple sugars. The mandarin tree was originally from China, but is now predominantly grown in the United States. This tree is also very similar to Mandarin.
